PRESIDENT'S CORNER

Hello Everyone!

Be sure and come to the meeting this month. We will hold our annual cook out at Fishers field. Let's hope the weather is good so we can do some flying before dinner. Plans for our fly-in in August are in full swing. We still need some more volunteers to make the event a success. Our event chairman will be recruiting at the cook out so come on down and step up to the plate!

See you all at the field.

Fly Safe,
Mike

Condition Inspection Checklist

Randy Moore has supplied a checklist that worked well for him in the annual condition inspection of his experimental airplane. It's derived from the FAA regs and the sample on the EAA website.

When Randy went up for his Repairman's Certificate, the inspector liked seeing it.  It probably should be in your materials to show at the Repairman's Certificate "interview" along with your build log.

Randy says the inspector will want:
1. Proof of age - driver's license or pilot's license
2. US citizenship - Passport
3. Picture of the data plate and airplane
4. Copy of the Airworthiness Certificate
5. Copy of Registration
6. Form 8610-2 (2 copies) be careful to fill out EXACTLY like the sample in AC65-23A
7. Copy of Operating limits - copy of logbook entry for certification
8. Bill of Sale or copy of the builder's affidavit
9. While it's not strictly required that you complete the 40 hr. phase 1 test, they'd like it.
10. Copy of logbook entries for certification (bring logs - make sure you have a separate log for the engine)

Thanks, Randy, for submitting this info and checklist!
