Saturday, August 23rd at 1:00 PM is when we will be holding our annual Fly-in/Pig-out at Fisher Field in Middleboro. The event will include a display of member's aircraft, a sumptuous feast and aviation related raffle, not to mention a great opportunity to socialize with folks interested in flying and building experimental aircraft. This is a great opportunity to display an aircraft a member may have for sale. There is plenty of parking and weather permitting the opportunity to fly in to the event. The cost is $20.00 per person with advance reservation and ticket payment required. All are invited. For more information contact Chapter member Marty Himmelfarb at (508) 759-7896 or at mhimmelfarb@comcast.net.

Thanks to Larry Bean for his pictures of the 2007 Fly-in, which have moved here.

Other Notes

If you are flying in ...

  • We plan to use North-South runways (36 or 18) only. If wind or safety conditions dictate otherwise, changes will be covered during the pilot briefings.

  • 2500’ grass runway (suitable for ultralight & light aircraft only).

  • Incoming aircraft should identify themselves, inquire for active runway, and state their intention 5 miles out on 122.75.

  • Calm wind runway is 36. For 36 we fly a Left downwind, a Right downwind if 18.

  • There is a utility pole-line under the downwind path, when in downwind you should fly above or just outside of this pole line.

  • Pattern Altitude is 800’MSL.   Field elevation is 120'.

  • GPS co-ordinates: 41.52.43 N – 70.50.61 W

  • If you will need fuel and/or oil for your return trip, notify a UL62 Staff Member as early as possible.

If you are driving in ...

  • You can use 154 Purchase Street, Middleboro, MA 02346 as your destination for Internet mapping software

  • The entrance to the airport is a gravel driveway on the west side of Purchase Street, about 10 or 20 yards south of the stop sign at the intersection of Purchase Street and Chestnut Street in Middleboro

  • The entrance has a sign that says "No Entry Without Prior Permission"
(Fly-in attendees are permitted, of course)

  • The closest Interstate exit is I495 and Rt 28, about 2-1/2 miles away
